OMG: Too Funny; Fake President With Fake ID's Gives Iran Fake Ancient Artifact

OMG: Too Funny; Fake President With Fake ID's Gives Iran Fake Ancient Artifact... From 1999...

Excerpt via Daniel Greenfield @ Frontpage Mag: Ancient Artifact Obama Gave Iran is a Fake from 1999;

A fake from a fake for a fake.

Obama ran for office promising masterful diplomacy. The reality has been less savvy diplomat and more pathetic loser. Hillary Clinton’s Reset Button with Russia was a dumb Bush-bashing gimmick and it was also misspelled.

That set the tone for the long-running comedy of errors in which Obama Inc. blended appeasement with dumb gimmicks and somehow managed to screw them up.

The ancient artifact it shouldn’t have given to Iran… proved not to be so ancient after all.

Sometimes an ancient artifact symbolizes more than its admirers necessarily imagine. Take for example the silver griffin that was returned by the United States to Iran as a gesture of respect and—at least according to tea-leaf readers—a sign of an emerging thaw between the two nations.
There’s only one problem: It’s a fake.
Not only is it a fake, it’s a bad fake.

Not only was it a bad fake. But the US government knew it was a bad fake. But the State Department chose not to know. [...] Continued @ Frontpage Mag. Hat tip Mara Zebest.

In a speech so high pitched that only porpoises and vampire bats could make out all of it, Sarah Palin makes New Jersey long for the calm and quiet of Hurricane Sandy.

4:02 PM By

Okay let me say at the outset that I am unwilling, and nowhere near drunk enough, to transpose this entire 20 minute screech fest.

However I will attempt, in between covering my ears with my pillows to make the bleeding stop, to provide the lowlights.

The first thing I noticed is that the candidate, Steve Lonegan, was TOTALLY playing second fiddle to Palin, and instead of her warming up the audience for him, he warmed them up for HER.

And once the muzzle was off her teeth gnashing and bitching began.

She referred to Mark Levin as "the great one," and said "I just told Todd, I said 'Ooh I shook Mark Levin's hand, I an die and go to heaven now.'" (If only.)

Here she is with the "Great One" and her pimp husband.

Gross don't you think?

And then she begins:

"I thank Steve for for his boldness. A, in inviting us here today. That proves I think that boldness that is inherent in all of you who are here to make sure that our country is not fundamentally transformed but it's fundamentally restored, into that exceptional nation that we no...that we want. That we deserve. You deserve it. Folks you do deserve better." (You know that's what I was thinking. They deserve better than some washed up old Teabagging has been, but she, and some tired old radio jockey, were all the support that Lonegan could drum up.)

Palin then co-opts a Buffalo Springfield song, and changes the line to "And something big is happening here, and it's exactly clear. It's called momentum. You have the momentum with Steve's campaign. The rest of the country knows it. (We do?) The media even knows it, and that's why they're getting all wee wee'd up against Steve." (This last part was so high pitched that I think I saw it knock a seagull out of the sky.)

At this point Palin decides it is time to teach a little local history to the people who actually live in New Jersey. So she talks about the Battle of Monmouth, and the woman known as Molly Hays who fired a cannon at the British after her husband was over come by the heat, and deems her the "first Mama Grizzly." (Such an insult.)

Then, while fighting to keep her wig on her head and her papers from flying off the podium, Palin launches into her diatribe against Obama and the governemtn shutdown. "I think it should be called 'the slimdown' because only 17% of our bloated, burdensome, out of control Federal government. that has even slowed down this week." (Is THAT why the Republicans were scrambling to get certain programs funded before they received the blamed for soldiers not getting paid, children not being fed, and sick people not receiving care?)

"Folks the Amber alert website that finds missing children was shutdown, but the Michele Obama's really groovy 'Let's Move' video is still up and running, because you can't be chubby." (Actually the Amber Alert website is up now, was only shutdown temporarily and that service was NEVER affected. As for the "Let's Move" website it has not been updated sine September 30th.)

Of course Palin HAS to bring up the barricades outside of the World War 2 memorial in Washington, and claims that she and Todd will "zip on in to DC" and "shake hands with those vets who are being dishonored."

Palin also claims that the 'slim down' is about "It is about a fundamental transformation of America. It's about breaking your spirit. It is about disempowering the people. And it's about trying to make YOU feel hopeless, and helpless. And heaven forbid they do that when you have a candidate like Steve Lonegan. When you hear about his story about not being hopeless and helpless and what he has overcome, and what we need in the United States Senate is more 'overcomers.'" (Wait, what? Did she mean to say that?)

Palin then compares Obamacare to Prohibition as a law that can be repealed. And then compares the number who have signed up for the ACA to the number of people who have signed the petition to repeal the law, while also chiding Joe Biden for cancelling a rally to head to Camp David. (Likely to work the the President to overcome the shutdown that Ted Cruz and his flunkies engineered.)

In other words it just gets nastier and nastier as she struggles to hold onto her notes and keep her wig from flying off in the wind. ("The Left lied, and trust died" is another of her nasty little ghostwritten Molotov catchphrases.)

She does remember to mention the candidate a few more times before wrapping it up, and shows that she wrote one of his quotes on her palm, which I assume in her mind is some kind of honor.

All in all I found the speech to be lazy and rife with recycled Palinisms, and perhaps the only thing that made it somewhat noteworthy was the spittle flecked stye in which it was delivered.

However the idea that this, in any way, benefits Lonegan's campaign is laughable.

I also don't believe it benefits Palin, who claimed that her trip was paid for by SarahPAC. And that kind of makes me believe that she is using this rally as an excuse, and has another hidden agenda that she is unwilling to share at this time. (Aren't the Fox News studios in New York which is only a hop, skip, and a jump from Jersey?)

Update: Yep she brought the "Belmonts."

In a speech so high pitched that only porpoises and vampire bats could make out all of it, Sarah Palin makes New Jersey long for the calm and quiet of Hurricane Sandy.
And the belt buckle. So classy.

10 best new cars for snow (and go)

10 best new cars for snow (and go)

With winter looming ahead, choosing a vehicle that delivers top traction in the snow can be paramount in many car and truck-shoppers’ minds.

Which vehicles fare best under snowy conditions? Those living in remote areas within the nation’s most snow-packed regions like Vermont (average yearly snowfall 89.25 inches) often find that nothing less than a rugged four-wheel-drive (4WD) pickup or truck-based sport-utility vehicle that can plow its way out of the deepest drifts will suffice.

Today’s 4WD systems run the gamut of sophistication from the rather basic part-time arrays offered on some pickups and lower-cost truck-based SUVs (the engine powers only the rear axle until the driver engages the front wheels via a button or dial) to automatic engaging full-time hardware that allow a driver to choose between rear-drive, 4WD and a safety minded “automatic” mode that engages the front axle as needed when sensors detect wheel slippage. A few models even include selectable modes that fine-tune the system’s traction for various road surfaces and conditions.

All types of four-wheel drive systems include “low range” gearing for times when maximum traction is needed, such as getting out of deep mud or snow or traversing steep hills and extreme off-road trails at slow speeds. It is important to note, however, that while 4WD helps you “go in the snow,” it does little to aid a vehicle’s cornering abilities and virtually nothing for braking.

Indian officials say few deaths in massive cyclone
BEHRAMPUR, India — India began sorting through miles of wreckage Sunday after powerful Cyclone Phailin roared ashore, flooding towns and villages and destroying tens of thousands of thatch homes, but officials said massive evacuation efforts had spared the east coast from widespread loss of life.
The storm, the strongest to hit India in more than a decade, destroyed hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of crops, but more than 20 hours after it made landfall in Orissa state, authorities said they knew of only 17 fatalities.
The final death toll is expected to climb further as officials reach areas of the cyclone-battered coast that remain isolated by downed communication links and blocked roads, but the evacuation of nearly 1 million people appeared to have saved many lives.
"Damage to property is extensive," said Amitabh Thakur, the top police officer in the Orissa district worst-hit by the cyclone. "But few lives have been lost," he said, crediting the mass evacuations.

Statue of Liberty reopens amid federal shutdown

New York state agreed to take over the costs of keeping the Statue of Liberty open to the public — about $61,000 per day.
NEW YORK — The Statue of Liberty has reopened to the public after New York agreed to shoulder the costs of running the site during the federal government shutdown.
Ferry trips from Manhattan to the Statue of Liberty resumed Sunday morning, and eager visitors were already lining up.
New York state agreed last week to take over the daily costs of keeping it open — about $61,600 per day.
New York has 33 sites under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service, and they have been shut since Oct. 1. The sites include the statue and nearby Ellis Island, which remains closed for repairs since Superstorm Sandy last year.
Nearly 4 million people visited Lady Liberty in 2011, generating $174 million in economic activity, the park service said.

Gravity stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock are having a blast-off

To make the effects-laden flick they had to spend hours inside a 20ft by 10ft container fitted with 4,096 LED lights.
Experts at Shepperton Studios in London created the “light box” to replicate the way the Sun’s rays hit space-walking astronauts.
Clooney and Bullock wore heavy suits based on NASA originals, with tight rubber “restriction vests” so their movements mimicked those of real astronauts.

Winterbottom wins Bathurst 1000

Winterbottom wins Bathurst 1000

Victory doesn't taste much sweeter than this.

Mark Winterbottom not only won the biggest motor race in Australia, he did it after an intense duel with his arch-rival Jamie Whincup. It was the first win for the Ford Performance Racing team and came just a day after Ford extended its deal to support the team next year.

Partnering Steven Richards, Winterbottom led home the Holden Whincup shared with Paul Dumbrell, leaving Craig Lowndes and Warren Luff to claim third in their Holden.

Winterbottom and Whincup were bumper to bumper for more than 60 laps, rarely separated by more than a second.

The two have been inseparable throughout their careers. They fought hard in go-karts and Formula Ford on their way to V8 Supercars. But since they made it to the top of the sport, Whincup has had the upper hand. He's won four titles and four Bathurst 1000 trophies.

But that is not a true reflection of the closeness of the pair. They are the two stand-out talents of their generation, and fittingly one represents Holden and the other Ford.

Charlie Hunnam drops out of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ film; actor quit due to busy ‘TV schedule,’ says studio

Charlie Hunnam drops out of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ film; actor quit due to busy ‘TV schedule,’ says studio

The search for the perfect Christian Grey was thought over after "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam was picked to play the lead in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" film, but now it appears Hunnam is out.

"The filmmakers of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey," Universal Pictures said in a statement, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.

The 33-year-old actor was the second casting announcement for the steamy film adaptation of E.L. James' erotic trilogy, after James took to Twitter revealing that Dakota Johnson would play Anastasia Steele on September 2.

"The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey," she wrote.

Almost immediately the actors and producers faced severe backlash from devoted readers, many of which hoped for other stars like Robert Pattinson and Ryan Gosling to bring the book fantasy to life.

Timothy Bradley vs. Juan Manuel Marquez: round-by-round recap

Timothy Bradley vs. Juan Manuel Marquez: round-by-round recap

Timothy Bradley and his trend of winning close scorecards continued Saturday night as he edged Juan Manuel Marquez, 10 years the elder at 40, by split decision.
Bradley, relying on his boxing skills, faster legs and strong jab, punctuated the performance with a big left hand that staggered Marquez in the final seconds of the 12th round.
Judge Robert Hoyle scored the World Boxing Organization welterweight title fight 115-113 for Bradley, while Patricia Morse Jarman had it 116-112 for Bradley. Glenn Feldman scored it 115-113 for Marquez.
The Mexican bitterly left the ring afterward, upset at the decision on the heels of his stunning sixth-round knockout of Manny Pacquiao. Marquez believes Nevada judges deprived him of a victory over Pacquiao for the same belt in 2011.

Another one of those liberal rags, this one called "The American Conservative," has blamed Ted Cruz for damaging the Republican party. Wait....
Source
Courtesy of The American Conservative:

Jonathan Bernstein considers what the pointless shutdown fight has done to Ted Cruz’s political prospects:

"It’s one thing to have a reputation as a loudmouth; it’s quite another to have a reputation as a loser. That’s what the shutdown fight has done to Cruz. Among true believers he’ll be the one who was a leader in a fight that surely would have won if the squishes hadn’t sold them out. But for most party actors, including many sympathetic to Tea Partyism, he’s going to be the guy who ran up the wrong hill."

It would have been different if Cruz’s gamble had been over a minor issue that drew little attention, but the purpose of the gamble all along seems to have been to turn Cruz into a national figure and link his name to some of the most important issues available. It succeeded in making him better known, but in every other respect it has backfired badly. More important, Cruz didn’t just misread the political landscape and support a strategy that had zero chance of success, but he did so in a way that maximized intra-party divisions, burned bridges with most of his colleagues, and distinguished himself as a self-seeking bomb-thrower who ended up helping to blow up his party’s own standing. Granted, Cruz didn’t do this all by himself, and there are many others that contributed to the mess the GOP finds itself in today, but he very much wanted to be identified as the leader of the effort, and now he will pay for it.

Cruz’s error was almost the exact reverse of the one that Rubio made on immigration. Rubio was paying too much attention to what people outside the GOP thought and wanted from an immigration bill, and for that reason he failed to see how much resistance there was in the House to any bill that Democrats would support. Cruz was so determined to ignore the views of anyone outside the party and even the views of many of those inside it that he led fellow Republicans into a disaster while remaining oblivious to the danger. Cruz’s debacle has been much more significant for the GOP because the party’s leaders ended up going along with his losing strategy.

Okay so with the American Conservative now piling on with the many others within the Republican party now speaking out, does that mean that the Republican party is now ready to clean house and rid itself of their teabagging insurgents?

(According to Rolling Stone that may be virtually impossible at this point.)

Or are the self inflicted wounds simply too deep, and rife with infection, for anything to save the patient? And do we now find ourselves at the pivotal moment when the country becomes a three party political system?

At least 60% of the country believes that introducing a third party is the only way to fix our broken political system. Though of course similar calls for a third party have cropped up numerous times in the country's past.

If that were to happen you KNOW that the energy for such a party would come solely from the rabid Right Wing which believes the Republicans are far too willing to compromise with the Democrats, in other words do their jobs, and would rather send representatives to Washington who were driven by stubborn ideology and complete distrust of government.

That does not exactly describe a viable framework for a third party, so perhaps despite rumblings for change and disgust with the status quo, things will continue in much the same fashion, until the Republicans finally get their unruly new members house broken, or the party devolves into a permanent minority party spending all of its time bitching about government but having little actual impact on governing.

Either one works for me.

Okay how did this young woman NOT receive the Nobel Peace Prize?

Okay how did this young woman NOT receive the Nobel Peace Prize?
Courtesy of the Telegraph:

US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle welcomed Pakistani schoolgirl activist Malala Yousafzai to the Oval Office on Friday.

Mr Obama met with Malala on the same day the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

The Pakistani teen had been considered a front-runner for the prize and was in Washington to speak at two events.

The teen said in a statement after the meeting that she was honored to meet with the president, who is a Nobel Peace Prize recipient.

"I thanked President Obama for the United States' work in supporting education in Pakistan and Afghanistan and for Syrian refugees. I also expressed my concerns that drone attacks are fueling terrorism. Innocent victims are killed in these acts, and they lead to resentment among the Pakistani people. If we refocus efforts on education it will make a big impact," she said.

So much wisdom in such a young person.

I think that her opportunities to win that prize are by no means behind her.

I see her as a great leader for her people in the years to come and have little doubt that she will remain a symbol for peace and the importance of education.

Attorney Larry Klayman Reports Government Harassing Truckers...

VIDEO HERE:

Excerpt via Freedom Outpost: National Guard Dispatched to DC Truck Protest - Fox News Won't Report

The trucker Ride for the Constitution has been underway since 7 AM this morning. The live broadcast has had hundreds of callers, the chat has over 300 people participating and the movement continues to grow.

While news agencies reported National Guard would be out, those reports had been proven as false. A commenter to a Freedom Outpost article by Dean Garrison contacted Senator Inhofe's office, who also indicated those reports were false.

About an hour ago, it was reported on the live broadcast of the Ride for the Constitution that a family in DC had seen and taken photos of National Guard troops in buses along the roadside. These were forwarded to Larry Klayman who was to present them on Neal Cavuto; but, Rupert Murdock refused to have this aired on Fox News. Additionally, it has been intimated the troops were going to close I-95 into Washington. Because of these developments, the trucks have been pulled back temporarily.

A few minutes ago, General Lee, who was on the live broadcast, was in downtown Washington, DC making his way to an interview with the Wall Street Journal digital. The host, Pete Santilli, asked the General to tell the reporter to contact him so additional information could be imparted.

There have been ongoing attempts to disrupt the show, the chat room and the call-in line. These attacks have been through individuals who are not in support of the effort or disagree with the host of the live broadcast. Skype has had problems as well with some of the associate hosts maintaining a connection. Pete Santilli has identified on the air that news organizations have done everything to sabotage the coverage of this event.

Several problems have occurred technically that were originally thought to be subversive attempts to quash the broadcast and information being disseminated to the public. As far as it is known at this time, all technical difficulties have been resolved.

This event will continue and will be maintained for the entire three days, no matter who or what tries to stop this.
