A SINGLE malt released earlier this year as a limited edition has been hailed as “borderline perfection” by one of the world’s leading whisky experts.
Whisky hidden away for 19 years is ‘world’s best’
In an endorsement that will have connoisseurs lining up to try a tipple, Glenmorangie’s Ealanta has been declared the best dram in the world.
The whisky has been a closely guarded secret at the firm’s Tain distillery for close to two decades – part of an experiment using virgin American white oak casks from Missouri as part of the maturation process.
Now though, whisky aficionados will be seeking out the drink after it received handsome praise in the latest edition of the respected Whisky Bible.
Jim Murray, author of the annual publication and an internationally renowned expert on whisky, scored Ealanta 97.5 out of a possible 100 in the 2014 edition of the guide, pipping the Kentucky bourbon William Larue Weller to the coveted title of World Whisky of the Year.
Describing the single malt as having “one of the longest finishes of any Scotch this year,” Mr Murray’s entry hails Ealanta as “borderline perfection”.
Praising its distinctive aroma and taste, Mr Murray explained: “Glenmorangie Ealanta pipped others to the post because it went out and did something different; not only did it blow one away with its deftness, beauty and elegance, but it gave an aroma and taste profile completely new to me in over 30 years of tasting whisky.”
Ealanta – Scots Gaelic for “skilled and ingenious” – is fully matured in virgin American white oak casks for 19 years.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak collapses along sideline

Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak, 52, collapsed as he was walking off the field at halftime of the team's game with the Indianapolis Colts.

Kubiak was put on a backboard and stretcher and sent to a hospital, though the team would not identify which one to NBC.

Texans assistant coaches were told that taking Kubiak to a hospital was a precautionary measure and that he did not have a heart attack, NBC reported. He did not lose consciousness and his family was with him at the hospital.

"He had an episode; he was light-headed and dizzy," Houston general manager Rick Smith said in an interview on NBC. "He was evaluated by a number of specialists … he is awake and coherent.

"We have to assess … obviously, there's a lot of info," Smith said. "Hopefully, Gary will be back with us tomorrow."

WheresObamasBirthCertificate Heads to Washington
DC CITIZENS TO TAKE “SHERIFF’S KIT” WITH
CRIMINAL EVIDENCE TO CONGRESSMEN
By Sharon Rondeau | The Post & Email

(Nov. 3, 2013) — Mike Volin, founder of WheresObamasBirthCertificate.com and a “Sheriff’s Kit” detailing the evidence that Obama’s long-form birth certificate is a forgery, is organizing an event in Washington, DC on November 18 and 19 in which the information will be taken to members of Congress.

The long-form birth certificate image posted on the White House website has
been declared a “computer-generated forgery” by a law enforcement investigation
Volin produced the kit several months ago to make available information gathered by the Maricopa County, AZ Cold Case Posse over a nearly two-year period to law enforcers, elected officials and others for possible action. Beginning in September 2011, the posse investigated the authenticity of the birth certificate image which was first posted on the White House website on April 27, 2011 and Obama’s purported Selective Service registration form.

On March 1, 2012, lead investigator Michael Zullo and Maricopa County, AZ Sheriff Joe Arpaio declared in a formal press conference that the birth certificate image and the Selective Service registration card were “computer-generated forgeries.” A second press conference on July 17, 2012 stated that the investigation found that the evidence surpassed the standard of “probable cause.”

Volin met with his congressman, Lou Barletta, on July 31 with two other constituents in Barletta’s office to reveal the information on the Sheriff’s Kit, during which Zullo was available by telephone to answer any questions Barletta or his staff might have had. Others met with their respective congressmen over the August 2013 congressional recess.

Volin also hosts a radio program on BlogTalkRadio to discuss developments in exposing the forgery to the American people, about which the mainstream media has been completely silent. This fall, The Post & Email has been both a guest and guest host on the show.

The White House has not addressed the claims of fraud and forgery in regard to Obama’s birth certificate and Selective Service registration form. Zullo has been seeking a congressional investigation since March of this year, when he traveled to the CPAC conference in Washington, DC to meet with numerous “VIPs” who might be in a position to take action on the crimes committed. Zullo has reported that Rep. Steve Stockman pledged to assist. As of this writing, Stockman has publicly stated that investigations into the Fast & Furious, IRS, Benghazi and other Obama regime scandals should be launched by select committees with special prosecutors. Stockman has also distributed a copy of Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott’s book Impeachable Offenses: The Case For Removing Barack Obama From Office to every member of the House of Representatives and Senate.

On October 18,, an image analyst and former typesetter filed a petition for the convening of a special federal grand jury to examine evidence he compiled of the birth certificate forgery along with a sealed affidavit which presumably names the individuals suspected of creating the forgery and perpetrating the falsehoods to the public about Obama’s past.

Volin announced on his website that Dr. James David Manning, who hosts a radio show Monday-Thursday on the internet, and Pastor Wiley Drake, who was a plaintiff on the first court challenge to Obama’s constitutional eligibility in 2008, will be present in Washington on the 18th and 19th.

NYC Marathon: Kenyan runners sweep elite titles

NYC Marathon: Kenyan runners sweep elite titles

NEW YORK – Just before mile 24, Ethiopian Buzunesh Deba looked over her shoulder as her lead began to vanish. Once Kenya's Priscah Jeptoo, with her knock-kneed stride belying the ease of her pace, pulled ahead, there was no need to look back.

In her New York City Marathon debut, Jeptoo won the women's race on Sunday with a time of 2 hours, 25 minutes, 7 seconds, almost a minute ahead of Deba. As she crossed the finish line, Jeptoo threw her arms in the air, then leaned over for an extended breath. With the victory, she received a $500,000 bonus for also capturing the World Marathon Majors women's title.

Kenya's Geoffrey Mutai, 32, won the men's race in 2:08:24. It's the third time Kenyans swept both the men's and women's titles (2002, 2003). The only other country to sweep was the United States in 1977.

Jeptoo entered New York as a favorite in the women's field after winning the London Marathon this year. Deba, who trains in the Bronx, finished runner-up for her second consecutive race in New York.

At mile 14, Jeptoo was trailing by 3 minutes, 29 seconds and didn't know how big the gap was until an official riding a bicycle told her. "I realized that three minutes is almost one kilometer. So I started to push the pace," she said. "I was having confidence that I will make it."

The first American woman to finish was Adriana Nelson, 33, of Fort Collins, Colo., who was 13th. Born in Romania, Nelson became an American citizen in 2011.

Ethiopia's Tsegaye Kebede finished second in the men's race, almost a minute behind Mutai, and took the World Marathon Majors men's title. The World Marathon Majors series includes five major marathons, the Olympics and world championships. Professional runners accumulate points over a two-season cycle.

Mutai is one of the fastest marathon runners in the world, posting a 2:03:02 on Boston's hilly course in 2011.

In 2011, when Mutai won New York, he shattered the course record by more than two and a half minutes. Given the strong wind on Sunday, no such marks were in reach. "To win is easy, but to defend your title is not easy," Mutai said. "The weather today, it was not easy."

Senator Chuck Schumer to Hillary Clinton, “If you run, you’ll win and we’ll all win.”

Senator Chuck Schumer to Hillary Clinton, “If you run, you’ll win and we’ll all win.”
Courtesy of Politico:

New York Sen. Chuck Schumer on Saturday urged Hillary Clinton to run for president, calling 2016 “Hillary’s time.”

“Run Hillary run,” the Democrat was expected to say at an Iowa dinner, according to prepared remarks. “If you run, you’ll win and we’ll all win.”

Schumer’s comments about his former Senate colleague and the former secretary of State were slated for delivery at the closely watched Jefferson Jackson dinner, a high-profile gathering of Democratic Iowa activists.

Clinton, a top 2016 possibility and current Democratic frontrunner, has made a slew of public appearances recently. She’s hit the campaign trail for Virginia’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Terry McAuliffe, and given a series of speeches at universities and other events held by organizations including the Center for American Progress.

Schumer went on to paint Clinton as the party’s best hope for combating the tea party — a movement he slammed repeatedly in the remarks.

“With a strong platform and with Hillary leading the charge, we will vanquish the Ted Cruz, tea party Republicans in 2016,” he said. “And create a generation of Democrats who will make sure the middle class gets what it needs, our country advances and the torch held by that beautiful lady in New York’s harbor burns more brightly than ever.”

I kind of have to agree with Schumer here.

If Hillary runs, she WILL win.

And once she wins, we ALL win.

Did Rand Paul just challenge Rachel Maddow to a duel?

Did Rand Paul just challenge Rachel Maddow to a duel?
Courtesy of HuffPo:

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) fired back Sunday against accusations that he plagiarized portions of his speeches from Wikipedia articles, musing "if dueling were legal in Kentucky" he could "challenge" the charges.

Last week, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow pointed out that parts of a speech Paul gave in support of Ken Cuccinelli, the Republican candidate for Virginia governor, had been lifted from the Wikipedia page for the film "Gattaca." BuzzFeed also found that another set of Paul remarks had borrowed from the Wikipedia entry for "Stand and Deliver."

In an appearance on ABC's "This Week," Paul dismissed the claims.

"Yes, there are times when [speeches] have been sloppy or not correct or we've made an error," Paul said. "But the difference is, I take it as an insult and I will not lie down and say people can call me dishonest, misleading or misrepresenting. I have never intentionally done so."

He continued, "And like I say, if, you know, if dueling were legal in Kentucky, if they keep it up, you know, it would be a duel challenge. But I can't do that, because I can't hold office in Kentucky then."

Seriously WTF?

In what century does Paul think he is living that would make it appropriate to challenge journalists for reporting the truth about plagiarism? And not to be sexist but exactly WHEN was it deemed reasonable to ever challenge a woman to a fight to the death for any reason, much less doing her damn job?

I think somebody should grab that toupee of his head, slap him in the face with it, and take him up on that challenge. I can guarantee the little shit would crap his pants if anybody actually called his bluff.

And yes, that includes Rachel Maddow.

According to new book Bill Clinton was in no way impressed by Mitt Romney, and had a rather...colorful way of suggesting how lucky Obama was to be running against him.

According to new book Bill Clinton was in no way impressed by Mitt Romney, and had a rather...colorful way of suggesting how lucky Obama was to be running against him.
Courtesy of the New York Daily News:

Bill Clinton said President Obama was "luckier than a dog with two d---s" for catching lucky break after lucky break during the 2012 presidential race while Republican challenger Mitt Romney crashed and burned in his campaign.

"Romney's ineptness staggered Clinton," according to a new political tell-all about the contest, "Double Down," by journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, Politico reported.

"He really shouldn't be speaking to people in public," Clinton said, according to the book, citing Romney's oratory weakness and embarrassing 47% comment that helped derail his bid.

You know I don't think I would have chosen exactly those words to describe the President's fortune with the Romney nomination, but I cannot fault Clinton's assessment of Mitten's constant stumbles and gaffes. At times it did almost seem that Romney was attempting to sabotage his own campaign.

I think I may have to buy this new book by Halperin and Heilemann, just like I did the last one. It seems clear that it contains some very interesting nuggets for political junkies like me.
