Arizona Pastor Steven Anderson warned his congregation recently that birth control was not only turn women into “whores,” it was also destroying the country.

In a sermon posted online this week, the Faithful Word Baptist Church leader explained that contraception was “not something Christians should be practicing,” even though he acknowledged that 99 percent of Christians believed it was acceptable.

Anderson pointed out that God, in the book of Genesis, had made childbearing painful to punish women for their Original Sin, adding that the husband “shall rule over thee.”

He argued that feminism had “given women the power” to decide when to have children for themselves, allowing them to have careers and follow other interests.

“It used to be a young women, she gets married, she has children, and that’s her job,” he lamented. “They literally count my wife as unemployed! She’s not unemployed, she doesn’t want to be employed. I mean, she’s a wife, she’s a mother.”

Yeah, you know whether she wants to be employed or not, if she does not draw a salary then she is in fact unemployed. What a moron!

But Pastor Dumbass was not done showing his ignorance yet.

“Not only does birth control do damage to women, it hurts their body if they’re using the pills. And it also affects their character, causing them to be an idle, tattler, gossip, turning aside after Satan,” he insisted.

Women would “get into sin” if they were not “busy” raising children, Anderson said.

After mocking actress Annette Funicello for once promoting birth control in the 50's, Anderson followed it up with this little gem.

“It promotes promiscuity, it promotes whoredom!” he advised, reading from the Bible: “Do not prostitute thy daughter to cause her to be a whore, lest the land fall to whoredom and the land become full of wickedness!”

“A land can call to whoredom!” he exclaimed. “And the United States today, fits that bill. If anybody has ever fit that bill, it’s the United States of America.”

And that my friends is why you do not take advice about sex, marriage, and relationships from a book that was written when people still considered women property, and did not really understand human reproduction.

I was going to call this guy a caveman, but I really think that would be an insult to cavemen.

Hard to believe that somebody this anti-woman managed to find some poor female to marry him.

Just what we need, ANOTHER movie where the righteous Christian silences the arrogant Atheist.

Following on the heels of the unfortunately successful God Is Dead, there’s another movie coming out this fall pitting another godless professor up against a faithful Christian student and her father.

This one’s called A Matter of Faith and the trailer features the scare-line: “The guy’s an evolutionist!”

Here is how the Creationists over at Answers in Genesis describe the synopsis:

Rachel Whitaker, a Christian girl, heads off to college for her much-anticipated freshman year. New friends create situations that require important, quick decisions—some about her social life, some about her core beliefs! Rachel begins to embrace the ideas of the university’s immensely popular biology professor (Harry Anderson) who boldly teaches that Darwinian evolution is the only logical explanation for the origin of life, and the Bible therefore cannot be true. When Rachel’s father (Jay Pickett) senses something changing in his daughter while she is home on a weekend visit; he begins to look into the situation and what he discovers catches him completely off guard. Now very concerned about Rachel drifting away from her Christian faith and the clear teachings of the Bible, he accepts an impossible challenge and tries to do something about it!

The challenge of course is a debate pitting the father against the biology professor.

Anyone want to guess how this turns out?

This of course follows on the heels of a whole slew of Christian propaganda movies, and it is doubtful that it will be the last.

Gee you would think that since this movie so closely mimics the recent "God is Not Dead" film that Christians lacked imagination. Or perhaps their creativity was stunted because instead of being taught to think for themselves, they were told what they had to think in order to gain access to eternal bliss.

More good news for Hillary Clinton, not such good for the Republicans.

Fairleigh Dickinson University's new PublicMind poll of the 2016 presidential race released Tuesday contains good news for Hillary Clinton.

FDU found Clinton well ahead of all her hypothetical Republican rivals among registered national voters.

All of the likely GOP candidates in the poll; New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Wisconsin Congressman and 2012 Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, ex-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush performed similarly.

Krista Jenkins, the director of PublicMind and an FDU political science professor noted the "strong position" Clinton seems to be in.

"Christie, Paul, Ryan, Bush and Huckabee are not one and the same, and yet they all seem to do about the same among registered voters when paired against Hillary Clinton. No one’s record is impenetrable, but these findings point to the strong position Clinton would find herself in should she officially become a nominee for the Democratic primary," Jenkins said in a statement accompanying the poll.

This kind of information can do nothing but further panic the GOP.

After all can even they continue to hold onto the House through potentially eight more years of a Democratic presidency? I seriously doubt it, and instead believe that the Democrats will rally and start picking off Congressional seats right and left.

If these numbers hold that would mean that even if the Republicans hold onto the House, or gain more seats in 2014, that they may not be able to do much more than temporarily hold back the tide of change before the Democrats get their legs under them and start to really push back on their obstructionism.

When it comes to health care in this country there are two Americas. And thanks to Republican interference Obamacare will not be able to help the most needy half.

When it comes to the quality of health care, there are two Americas.

In one America, infant mortality, avoidable deaths, health-care costs and other measures are far worse than in the other America, according to a new study by the Commonwealth Fund, a health policy research firm. And thanks to Republican lawmakers and the Supreme Court, the gulf between them may only get wider.

The map below from the Commonwealth Fund shows the stark divide. States with the worst overall health care systems -- as measured by factors like the number of insured adults and children, avoidable emergency room visits and access to affordable care -- are dark blue. States with better health-care systems are white.

What's more, 16 of the 26 states at the bottom of the Commonwealth Fund’s scorecard aren’t expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

Of course the states with the worst health care are red states, most of which will also not accept the Affordable Care Act's Medicaid expansion. Leaving them with virtually no help until they vote the Republicans out, or the GOP starts to panic and change their policies in order to hang onto power.

Make no mistake these people are suffering for NO good reason other than a desire by the Republicans to obstruct the President and deny his ability to help the most vulnerable Americans in the country.

We need to rise up and vote these Kochsuckers out, and the time to do that is this year.

We CANNOT let this opportunity pass.

Sarah Palin finally gives a shout out to her long suffering purse carrier.

These guys have guts! And the patience of Job, no doubt. Attending Iowa’s “Heels On, Gloves Off” rally for U.S. Senate candidate Joni Ernst last week, our husbands stood still long enough for a quick photo. We honor them for their continued love, support, and exemplary work ethic. In the rough and tumble political arena I believe some experiences are more unpleasant for a candidate’s family than for she who is offering to serve in office. The Iron Lady said it best; here’s a quote of hers worth remembering when opponents’ distorted personal criticism flies on the points of darts and arrows that family members graciously, admirably rise above: “I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left.”

- Sarah Palin

Actually I have not gone after Palin personally because I don't have a political argument to make far from it.

I have gone after her on a personal level usually in response to that same sort of attack on others. For instance calling into question the President's manhood, or suggesting that people who do not agree with her are "wusses," or insinuating that essentially everybody who reports, writes a book, or blogs about her are pedophiles or sex offenders.

In fact the very idea that she would suggest that it is OTHERS who are using personal attacks, instead of her is laughable on its face.

In fact she is the queen of personal smears, character assassinations, and middle school taunts.
