Courtesy of ABC News 15:

Gov. Jan Brewer has announced she will not seek another term.

Brewer made the announcement Wednesday morning in front of a cafeteria full of students at Park Meadows Elementary School.

"There comes a time to pass the torch of leadership, so after completing this term in office, I will be doing just that," Brewer said. "While I will no longer be governor after this year, I will remain a proud cheerleader and champion for this awesome that I love so dearly."

Hmm what could Brewer have come into contact with that would drive her out of politics?

Ahh, of course.

So let the speculation that Palin is going to run for this now vacated position begin in 3..2..oh hell you know it's already started.

Sarah Palin prepares to honor us with her 2014 political predictions. Ooh look, goosebumps. Update!

Sarah Palin prepares to honor us with her 2014 political predictions. Ooh look, goosebumps. Update!
Courtesy of Nostradumbasses Facebook page:

“We the People” – are you ready to send our Congressional patriots their needed reinforcements? Here’s how we do it!

As I said in my speech last week in Washington, D.C., America needs bold Constitutional conservative leaders who will fight for us with intelligence and integrity to restore our exceptional nation and preserve the blessings of liberty and prosperity. Time is short. I’m convinced it’s now or never to save our free republic. (I agree, we need to save our republic. From anybody that Sarah Palin would deem worthy of support.)

So, I’m excited to announce that big U.S. Senate and House of Representatives endorsements are on the way! We’ll tackle some state races, too. (If I were one of the candidates that Sarah Palin might endorse I would be shitting bricks about now.) Lots of vetting and research goes into these endorsements because this is for YOU. It’s to allow you to take a closer look at good men and women with servants’ hearts who are willing to get in the rough and tumble arena to help save America. Please do your own homework on candidates; never put all your hopes and unattainable expectations in anyone running for office (because humankind’s imperfections aren’t absent in politicians), but know that I’ve been diligent and pragmatic in choosing patriots whom I believe we can trust to do the right thing. (In other words sabotage the government from within.) I never want to let you down! And you know me well enough by now; you know I do my homework; I use discernment, and then I go with my gut. (Yep I have my staff provide recommendations, I think on them, and then I just do whatever the hell I want to anyway.)

These candidates put service over self and principles over politics. They’re not going to D.C. to get cozy with the permanent political class or feather their nests off the crony capitalism running rampant in the swamp. They’re going to Washington to shake things up and restore that endangered species in D.C. – common sense – in an out-of-control government that stomps on the neck of freedom and opportunity. These men and women have promised to be fighters for all that is good about America. They’ll have our back; let’s do our part and watch their backs, too, as we send these reinforcements into the battle.

I’ll roll out endorsements in coming days; I’ll ask you to support the good guys, and we’ll all covet prayers for them and for the great awakening I’m confident our nation is experiencing as people open their eyes to the present harsh reality but also to America’s future positive possibilities as we seek our nation’s good destiny! (I'm sorry, what?)

Help spread the good news; we can send helpmates to the good guys in D.C., so keep the faith! (Yep that's what this country needs, re Ted Cruz's, more Mike Lee's, and Allen West's.)

- Sarah Palin

Palin's predictions have been less than earth shattering as of late, which you might imagine would force her advisers to suggest that she make safer choices this go around in order to fortify her fraudulent reputation as a king maker.

But if this Facebook post is any indication, she has no intention of making smart choices and instead is going to endorse any old fruit loop who claims to know all the words to the Star Spangle banner and believes that Jesus personally wrote the Constitution with his own blood.

In other words simpletons who have no business being anywhere near Washington D.C..

Oh hell it has already started.

If I were running the campaigns of those who are being endorsed by Sarah Palin I would use quotes from her in every campaign ad I paid for, until they publicly shunned her.

She could actually be the best secret weapon the Democrats have in 2014.

Hell even musicians do not want their music associated wither her.

Update: Wow, even the gun nuts are pissed off at her.

George Zimmerman sits for six hours at Florida gun show. Less than 20 people show up for autographs. So ends another fifteen minutes of undeserved fame.

Courtesy of the Washington Times:

George Zimmerman spent Saturday signing autographs and snapping photos with customers and fans at the New Orlando Gun Show.

Over the course of six hours, fewer than 20 people lined up to see Mr. Zimmerman, who was acquitted last year in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. He was stationed in a rear office of The Arms Room gun store, the New York Daily Newsreported.

The show was originally set to be held at the Majestic on John Young Parkway, but organizers said the venue canceled late Thursday after getting negative feedback about Mr. Zimmerman’s planned appearance, WESH reported.

“They told us they canceled for community pressure,” organizer Mike Piwowarski told the station. “They were getting phone calls and backlash, and didn’t want that kind of person there.”

Fox 35 asked Mr. Zimmerman if he felt his appearance at the gun show could be viewed as antagonistic.

“I don’t worry about people that say it’s antagonistic,” he said. “To be honest with you, like I said, the importance was to support the people that supported me.”

“I’m willing to talk to everyone and try and answer their concerns or questions, and [have] them realize there’s no need to be angry,” he said.

No reason to be angry? Cannot say I agree with that.

After all he did get away with the murder of an unarmed teenager.

Here is how one couple described their meeting with Zimmerman:

“He seemed nervous and actually a little scared to be there. He also appeared emotional, like he was really thankful and touched that people would come out to see him,” said Melissa.

“It was pretty weird to meet him in person — and wow, he has gained a lot of weight!”

The Washington Times also reported that Zimmerman claims to suffer from PTSD and is receiving mental health services pro-bono.

He also is in constant fear for his life and wears a bulletproof vest everywhere he goes.

Gee I guess getting away with murder is not all it's cracked up to be.

Senator Mark Begich is fed up with the Koch brother funded attack ads.

) Courtesy of Politicususa:

Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK) has been in the crosshairs of the Koch brothers and their SuperPAC, Americans for Prosperity, for the past few months. Obviously, the Kochs feel that Begich is vulnerable in this election cycle as he represents a state that went for Mitt Romney by a fairly sizable margin in the 2012 Presidential election. Of the $30 million that AFP has spent on ads so far this election cycle, nearly a million dollars has gone towards attack ads against Begich.

One ad that AFP ran came under fire not just for twisting the truth (a Koch specialty) but by using a paid actress from Maryland and portraying her as a legitimate Alaskan resident and voter. After AFP ran another attack ad, this time falsely claiming that Begich supported a carbon tax, Begich had enough with the Koch brothers’ interference in his reelection campaign and decided to fight fire with fire. On Monday, a new ad was released by Begich hitting the Kochs for lying to the Alaskan people, killing jobs in Alaska and interfering with the state’s political process.

Well personally I am proud of my Senator for taking the fight to the Koch brothers and calling them out publicly. Apparently he is taking point on this with other Democrats, also under attack by the Koch brothers, planning to follow his lead.

One thing for certain about Alaskans, we absolute hate it when outside forces try to hijack one of our elections. And that has cost more than a few wannabe politicians their chance to represent the state, and its people.

Good lord, who would still want to TAPP Sarah Palin?

Good lord, who would still want to TAPP Sarah Palin?
Courtesy of Mediaite:

With an appearance on Bloomberg TV Tuesday, Former CNN president Jon Klein and former NBC entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin announced their new online streaming video venture called TAPP, short for “TV App.” As for the types of personalities the pair hopes to feature on the service? According to Klein, Sarah Palin is exactly the type of person they are looking for.

“We are not talking about specific talent,” Klein said in response to rumors that they have been in talks with Palin about the venture. “I will tell you that Sarah Palin is the kind of personality who has a massive social presence, and a core group of followers and supporters who hang on to her every word. That is exactly the characteristic that these channels are looking for.”

Similar to Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze.com, TAPP will consist of multiple channels and shows that users can stream online for somewhere in the $10/month range. “Everybody’s got someone, one person at least, that they would pay $10 per month to get more of,” Klein added. He envisions a world in which “everyone has a TAPP channel” the way anyone can have a YouTube channel today.

“Everybody’s got someone, one person at least, that they would pay $10 per month to get more of." That may be true but the problem with Sarah Palin is that a little is too much, and more is essentially toxic to human beings.

Okay so in some ways this sounds like almost the perfect job for Palin.

After all she can probably choose from which state to do the show, and might even be able to use that Fox studio in her Wasilla compound and a make shift one in Arizona to do it from both locations, if need be.

However the optimum word here is "job." And Sarah Palin is well known for having an allergy to actual work.

So if she is willing to make any kind of deal at all it will be one that requires very little effort from her, employs her family members as well (Hey, SOMEBODY has to beat the wig into submission, trowel on the makeup, and push the little record button.), and which overpays her for putting forth minimal effort.

If I were launching a new video venture I certainly would not take a risk on a woman whose name is now synonymous with the word "quitter."

For those who think that America has completely turned against science.

3:51 AM By No comments

Many were quick to point out that the numbers were underwhelming for this debut, but considering it was up against the hit shows "Resurrection," "The Walking Dead," and the finale of the HBO series "True Detective," I think it did surprisingly well.

And through the advances of science viewers were able to DVR the show to watch at their convenience.

That is for those of us not terrified by progress that is.

And this last Sunday Neil deGrasse Tyson addressed the current "war on science."

Courtesy of Raw Story:

In an interview on CNN’s Reliable Sourcs, host Brian Stelter asked Tyson how to go about brokering a peace in the “war on science.”

“Our civilization is built on the innovation of scientists and technologists and engineers who have shaped everything that we so take for granted today,” Tyson pointed out. “So some of the science deniers or science haters, these are people who are telling that to you while they are on their mobile phone.”

“They are saying, ‘I don’t like science. Oh, GPS just told us to go left,’” he laughed. “So it’s time for people to sit back and reassess what role science as actually played in our lives. And learn how to embrace that going forward, because with out it, we will just regress back into the caves.”

Stelter observed that the news media often tried to balance the climate change debate, even when the two sides were not equal.

“What responsibility do you think the members of the media have to portray science correctly,” the CNN host wondered.

“The media has to sort of come out of this ethos that I think was in principle a good one, but it doesn’t really apply in science,” Tyson explained. “The principle was, whatever story you give, you have to give the opposing view. And then you can be viewed as balanced.”

“You don’t talk about the spherical Earth with NASA, and then say let’s give equal time to the flat Earthers,” he added. “Plus, science is not there for you to cherry pick.”

Tyson recalled that he once said that “the good thing about science is that it’s true whether or not you believe in it.”

“You can decide whether or not to believe in it, but that doesn’t change the reality of an emergent scientific truth,” he noted.

“The good thing about science is that it’s true whether or not you believe in it.” Very well said, and THAT is why he is the perfect host for the relaunch of Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" series.

And speaking of "Cosmos" I finally have a link to the show that will work.

If you have not seen it trust me when I tell you it will be the best 44 minutes you will waste all day.
