RNC Chairman Reince Preibus issues statement honoring women of the Republican party. However somebody gets left out. Three guesses as to who.
"Why do I suddenly get the feeling of impending doom?"
So RNC Chairman Prebus issued this statement two days ago.

Here is where he lists some of the admirable women that represent the party:

“Republican women have a history of being trailblazers, breaking ground and glass ceilings — from Margaret Chase Smith, the first woman to be elected to both the House and the Senate, to the nation’s first Latina governor, Susana Martinez of New Mexico and the country’s youngest sitting governor, Nikki Haley of South Carolina.

Let's see Margaret Chase Smith, Susana Martinez, Nikki Haley, yeah that seems to represent the female trailblazers...ooooh wait, do you see what I see?

Well they certainly did over at Breitbart:

The RNC failed to recognize former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was the party's first female vice presidential nominee. What made the statement stranger, though, was it explicitly acknowledged two governors who would not be in their respective statehouses were it not for Palin.

Martinez and Haley were both trailing their respective races before Palin, who galvanized what became the Tea Party movement when she was put on the presidential ticket in 2008, endorsed them in 2010, which ensured they would get their respective nominations.

Ouch somebody's panties are certainly in a bunch.

Of course what Breitbart seems to forget, and Preibus clearly has not, is that while Palin was once the darling of the GOP four years ago, and could help get relatively unknown politicians elected in certain very red states, these days her endorsement has little value, and in fact can attract the kind of negative attention that will doom a campaign before it even gets out of the gate.

Sarah Palin making the RNC proud to have chosen her as their VP candidate.
Besides that he knows all to well that her ignorance and unintelligible responses to he questions of reporters made the 2008 McCain campaign a virtual laughingstock.

So he might suffer a few poorly misspelled e-mails cramming his inbox from the few remaining Palin-bots out there, but ultimately I doubt that his omission will bother too many loyal Republican men, or women.

When "I am a Christian" is the first thing on their resume.

The above ad is not, I repeat NOT, a parody.

It is the real honest to goodness ad for crazy Teabagger, Dan Patrick a state senator who is now aiming for the Lt. Governor position in Texas.

He is also the guy whose Twitter account featured this tweet a few days back:

Yeah, but of course that was the fault of some underling who is too stupid to tweet what the Senator wanted tweeted, right? I mean is not ignorant enough to have made the mistake himself.

Yeah right.

As the political advertisement says Patrick is the guy who pushed for the mandatory sonograms for women seeking abortion in Texas, so that they can be humiliated before making one of the most difficult decisions of their life. And he is also the guy who sprinkled references to God all over Texas politics.

What better way to prove his Christy credentials.

Now call me a cynic (Trust me I have been called worse.) but when somebody puts their Christian faith at the top of their list of attributes, that simply makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and for me red flags start waving all over the damn place.

I naturally assume that pretty much every politician running for office in Texas is a Christian (After all it IS Texas!), so when one of them gets all up in my face over their faith my first instinct is that they are somebody who does not want to be looked at too carefully, and instead hopes that Christianity provides a cloak of obfuscation that will immediately instill trust.

Of course only a moron believes that simply self identifying as a Christian automatically makes somebody trustworthy.

And as it turns out, Texas has more than its fair share of morons.

This from TFN Insider:

The Dallas Morning News reports that four Texas politicians — politicians often aligned with religious-right groups that use faith as a political weapon — were among the victims of a Ponzi-like scheme run by a North Texas businessman. It seems they trusted the scammer because he appeared to be a good Christian and “godly man.”

According to the Morning News, state Rep. Bill Zedler, R-Arlington; state Rep. Phil King, R-Weatherford; state Sen. Ken Paxton, R-McKinney; and former state Rep. Wayne Christian, R-Center, invested separately a total of $331,000 in an energy-trading finance company. They were among more than 20 other Texans who invested about $2.5 million in Archer Bonnema’s company, Pirin Electric.

Bonnema, who claimed to have helped find Noah’s Ark on Mount Ararat a few years back, appears to have specifically targeted Christian conservatives as potential investors.

Well of course he did, who could possibly be more gullible?

"I'm a Christian, would I lie to you?" The answer is of course they would.

And it happens all of the time. In fact our prisons are bulging with Christians.

Dan Patrick's Christian credentials should not immediately ingratiate him to the voters of Texas, instead they should have their guard up and their critical thinking skills turned up to high.

Because as Thor is my witness, this guy is up to no good.

Blind Item from August revealed to be none other than Bristol Palin. Not so surprising actually.
So this was revealed today over at Crazy Days and Nights:

This former reality star has not been on a show in some time, but because of who she is and her family she still has A+ list name recognition. Apparently she is also yours for the night if you get her drunk enough. Five nights in a row she got wasted. Three of those nights she went home with a different guy. Hope she used protection otherwise her next reality show is going to be Maury. Now that would be a great episode of television.

The above was posted on August 21, 2013.

Today they published the name:

Bristol Palin

Oh I know a certain father fighting for his custody rights in Alaska who is going to be tickled to see this.

Well now we know why she likes to hide out in Arizona, far from the prying eyes of those who might report her dalliances to interested parties.

For those who did not watch the festivities last night (Myself included.) the big winners are :

Best Picture" 12 Years a Slave.

Best Actor: Matthew McConaughey, Dallas Buyers Club.

Best Actress: Cate Blanchett, Blue Jasmine.

Best Supporting Actor: Jared Leto, Dallas Buyers Club.

Best Supporting Actress: Lupita Nyong'o, 12 Years a Slave.

To be honest I did not see any of the ceremony as I was knee deep in zombies last night watching "The Walking Dead." And then stayed up late to watch Matthew McConaughey's brilliant "True Detective" on HBO.

I regret nothing.

P.S. This is how what is now the most re-tweeted picture on the internet came together.

Poor Jared Leto, he simply could not get passed Jennifer Lawrence's hip check.

Sunday on Fox News Darrell Issa claimed that former head of the IRS tax exempt division will testify on Wednesday. Her lawyer says no she won't. Issa responds with yes she will. I love a good Mexican standoff.

Courtesy of Politico:

Rep. Darrell Issa doesn’t know what he’s talking about, the attorney for former IRS official Lois Lerner said Sunday.

Issa, the California Republican who chairs the House Oversight and Reform Committee, told “Fox News Sunday” that Lerner, the former head of the IRS tax-exempt division, would testify before his committee Wednesday, which he said he had been told by her attorney.

That attorney, William W. Taylor, said Issa is wrong.

“As of now, she intends to continue to assert her Fifth Amendment rights,” Taylor told POLITICO. “I do not know why Issa said what he said.”

Lerner invoked her Fifth Amendment rights not to implicate herself when she appeared before the committee in May 2013, but only after delivering a brief statement defending herself. At the time, Issa and other Republicans said she had waived her Fifth Amendment rights by delivering the statement.

Issa does know that just saying somebody is going to testify is not the same thing as having a commitment that they are going to testify, right?

After this Politico story came out Issa released this statement:

“Bill Taylor, Ms. Lerner’s attorney, has confirmed in writing that Ms. Lerner is willing to testify and she is now requesting a one week delay for the public hearing. We have informed Mr. Taylor that Ms. Lerner may make her request for a delay on Wednesday when she appears for the hearing.”

Okay so, if I have this straight, Lois Lerner has no intention of testifying on Wednesday, and according to Issa is asking for a one week delay, which he will consider IF she shows up for the hearing that her attorney has stated she has no intention of showing up for.

I hate to jump to conclusions here, but it looks to me is if Issa will be interrogating an empty chair on Wednesday. And yet still going to be outmatched in a battle of the wits.

Point well taken.

Point well taken.
73 million wasted to propagate a myth that should have died out back in the 19th century.

I guess it is more important to sabotage the critical thinking skills of defenseless school children than it is to feed the hungry.
