The Voice Season 5 Premiere: Coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green Make a Triumphant Return

      They're ba-ack!
The four original superstar coaches of The Voice are back together and, dare we say it, they're better than ever! Fresh off their very first Emmy win for Best Reality Competition Series, the coaches of The Voice are ready to reclaim their big red thrones and hopefully find America's newest singing sensation.
Tonight's season five premiere introduced fans to multiple jaw-dropping performers who used their passion for music and unique voices to entice the coaches in the blind auditions. So who snagged the most singers on their first night back and who is ready to kick Blake Shelton out of the winners seat? We've got all the answers...
Kicking off the season five premiere Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green, reunited once again to give fans a foot-tapping rendition of the classic hit, "I Love Rock 'n' Roll." But once the music ended, the competition was on as the judges used their wit and charm to try and woo the season five contestants onto their team.
Green snagged the first artist of the new season and Levine led the pack with a total of three singers on his team by the end of the night—but the biggest win of the premiere definitely went to the lady of the group. Matthew Schuler made history as the fastest fourchair turn in all five seasons of The Voice, and after a lengthy debate, Aguilera won the 20-year-old college student for her team.
Shelton revealed how excited he was to have the original foursome back together saying "It was really cool to see Christina and Cee Lo, it was just like old times seeing those two trying to win an artist over. It's amazing how quickly we all fall back into those chairs and pick up where we left off." In equal admiration Levine added, "We're like the Beatles, but better."
(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
